Owen Jordan graduated in 2022 with his Bachelors and is currently working for ExxonMobil (formerly with Pioneer Natural Resources prior to the acquisition), as a Field engineer on a drilling rig in Midland, Texas.
Jordan’s favorite memory of the Petroleum Engineering program was attending the SPE ATCE conference in Dubai 2021, with the SPE and AADE student organizations. Jordan explains “It was incredible to be a part of a global conference while getting to explore the city of Dubai with my classmates. Together we made memories that I will cherish forever”.
Jordan’s favorite memory of Mines was playing on the Mines Club Hockey Team. “It was a great way to take my mind of school and it is where I met most of my friends outside the Petroleum Engineering Program”.
Advice Jordan has for current students in the Petroleum Engineering program to “Keep an open mind about opportunities within school and your career. You never know what opportunity could open further doors down the line for you, even if it isn’t what you might have envisioned for yourself.”
