My name is Coy Bowser and I am a rising junior studying Petroleum Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. I interned this last summer with Coterra Energy in Midland on their Drilling and Completions team. My project focused on optimizing wellbore design, which gave me the opportunity to learn concepts I had not yet encountered in the classroom, such as casing set points, various mud types, geologic formations, and casing manufacturing specifications. This hands-on experience pushed me to think critically about efficiency, safety, and innovation in drilling and completions, while also allowing me to get ahead in my learning and preparation for future coursework.
