This summer I had the opportunity to work for EOG Resources in the San Antonio division. My internship focus was production engineering, with this I got a good balance of office work along with field exposure. I was assigned a project on artificial lift optimization for a green field that EOG recently acquired, In the office I was able to learn their programs to create gas lift designs, I also worked with the facility engineers to ensure the production facility would be able to work with my designs. In the field, I went to workovers, drilling rigs, and even got to pig some wells! With this being my first internship I had a LOT to learn especially since industry is so different from classroom theory and application. I have no doubt that my continuous learning over the summer will be very helpful as I head into my senior year.
